Toronto FC Vs. DC United: Rib Injury Forces Adrian Cann Off

Those two early goals by Chris Pontius and Charlie Davies aren't the only bits of bad news for Aron Winter and Toronto FC. Adding injury to insult, they've lost centre half Adrian Cann to a suspect broken rib incurred in the buildup to the Davies goal. Cann's been hauled off the field to be replaced by Nana Attakora-Gyan, and if that rib is badly broken i wouldn't really except to see him back anytime soon.

Meanwhile, Toronto have recovered somewhat from their terrible start and are now playing a little better. However, that’s not particularly difficult when they started like a gaggle of confused schoolboys and let their guests saunter to a 2-0 lead inside the first ten minutes. They’ve had a couple of at least semi-dangerous attacks now, but they’re probably going to have to score this half to have much hope of getting a result out of this match. It’s still not looking likely.
