You could probably watch a full season of MLS and never see a more exciting 30-second run of action than occurred in the Chicago Fire-Los Angeles Galaxy match around the 65th minute on Sunday. The sequence started on a seemingly innocuous corner kick that Galaxy forward Mike Magee was able to nod toward goal. After deflecting off a Fire defender, it looked bound for the back of the net. But Gonzalo Segares was able to get to the ball and employed the bicycle kick to clear the ball off the line.

That sent the action going the other way, with Diego Chaves leading the charge toward the opposite end. Chaves was able to take the ball all the way to the opposing penalty area, got the corner on the defender and fired a shot toward the Galaxy net.
Unfortunately, at least from a highlight-reel purpose, the ball went just wide. While the sequence didn’t yield any goals, it was still about as exciting as anything you’ll see.
