Just what exactly is it with Dejan Stankovic and scoring absolute belters from the midfield? A few weeks ago he caught Manuel Nueur off his line with a brilliant volley thirty seconds into the first leg of the Inter Milan-Schalke 04 Champions League quarter-final (although they ended up losing 5-2), and he was at it again with a quite lovely long-range effort against Roma in the Coppa Italia today.

Yeah, it’s not from half-way, but the goalkeeper’s actually in the net for this one. Look at the way it bends around poor Doni in the Roma goal. Great control, astonishing finish. And to top that all off it won Inter the game and a place in the Coppa Italia final. Marvelous.
