As I write this, we are more than an hour past the supposed deadline for Chivas USA to make a choice about whether or not they want to sign United States international Benny Feilhaber. Ridiculous and absurdly hyperbolic headline aside, this is just a joke of a situation. The best we have in terms of what we should expect is this tweet from Steven Goff of the Washington Post:
Benny Feilhaber? More Like Benny Failharder

Source: As of 4 pm, Chivas had no trade lined up, so unless something surfaced late, it appears they'll claim Feilhaber

I’ll admit to defending MLS and its rules from time to time, but stuff like this is just dumb. There’s really no good reason it should be taking this long to decide the fate of a player like Feilhaber. Chivas USA has had since Friday to make a decision, the constant delays in making these kinds of announcements are just ridiculous.
