Celtic Manager Neil Lennon Targeted With Mail Bomb
Celtic manager Neil Lennon is no stranger to the rougher aspects of the Old Firm rivalry. Lennon has been attacked on the streets, had his life threatened and even had bullets sent via mail to his home after the controversial match between Rangers and Celtic in the Scottish Cup in March. But those incidents look tame compared to the latest news out of Scotland - mail bombs addressed to Lennon, his lawyer and a member of the Scottish Parliament have been intercepted by the police.
Even for the notoriously contentious Old Firm rivalry, this is mad. The last time the two teams met, three red cards were issued, Lennon came to blows with Rangers assistant manager Ally McCoist and nearly 200 arrests were made, leading the Scottish Football association to slap Lennon with a two match ban (McCoist got his overturned on appeal) and forcing both clubs to come up with an action plan to calm down tensions between the two sides. Obviously, they need it.
