San Luis gave it their all in the second half of their match against Libertad, even forcing Libertad to clear one shot off the line, but in the end they were unable to find the back of the net and as a result, they’ve lost 2-0 away in Paraguay. With this result, Libertad are through in first place while San Luis have been eliminated from Copa Libertadores.
Libertad Vs. San Luis: 2-0 Full Time, Libertad Win The Group, San Luis Go Out
Libertad have not been playing well domestically, but they have not let that affect their form in Copa Libertadores. After going through to the knockout stages on 14 points, the Paraguayan side will likely be receiving one of the top two or three seeds in the knockout stages. Whether or not that is a benefit over a middle seed is to be determined, but they will be happy that they have been able to keep their poor domestic form out of this competition.
For San Luis, they must turn their focus to domestic football, where they face a serious uphill battle to qualify for Liguilla in the Mexican Primera.
