After injuries to their top two goalkeepers, rookie Jake Gleeson will get his first MLS start for the Portland Timbers. Gleeson played for the Timbers U-23 team last year and has played for the New Zealand youth teams. Gleeson also started in this week's U.S. Open Cup qualifying victory, a shut out of Chivas USA.

In front of him will be four players with a total of 47 MLS appearances between them. Only Rodney Wallace has appeared in as many as 10 MLS games. Midfielder James Marcelin will also receive his first MLS start.
The New England Revolution will have considerably more experience in their starting lineup, which has helped the Revs get off to an undefeated start to their season. Rookies A.J. Soares and Stephen McCarthy will start for the Revolution.
