Just as it seemed the game had gotten away from the Vancouver Whitecaps, Atiba Harris got them back into the game with a goal in the 73rd minute to make the score 3-1. The goal came off an assist from Nizar Khalfan, who found Harris streaking toward the near post.

That goal seems to have breathed some life back into the Whitecaps, who were looking pretty down after falling behind 3-0. Since Harris’ goal, though, the Whitecaps have dominated possession and have created several more quality chances.
It was likely too little, too late, though. The Whitecaps still trail 3-1 in the 88th minute. They did get a small piece of consolation when Teal Bunbury, who spurned Canada to play for the United States, was given a yellow card for time wasting. Bunbury had earlier scored a pair of goals to get Sporting Kansas City out to an early 2-0 lead.
