Fernando Torres has finally scored his first goal for Chelsea, and it was an absolute beauty. Torres has had two and a half months, fourteen appearances and countless jokes being made at his expense since moving to Chelsea from Liverpool on a £50 million transfer in late January, but it would be difficult for anyone to be critical of him after this one.

It came in the 84th minute, Nicolas Anelka setting him up with a nice through ball, but the conditions were such that when Torres looked to flick the ball into space it instead died right in the center of the box. Torres stopped on a dime, found enough room between three defenders to set himself and struck a laser into the bottom left corner past a helpless Robert Green. A fantastic goal to be sure, and the first of what Chelsea supporters will be hoping turns out to be many.
