Lyon have lined up for their match today with their normal 4-3-3 setup, playing three true strikers up top. They are still without Michel Bastos, but they still field an extremely strong lineup, and they should be favorites against Montpellier today. Jeremy Toulalan, a long-time defensive midfielder, continues to play in the center of defense for Lyon. There is one particular selection of note in their lineup today, though. Yoann Gourcuff has finally paid the price for his poor performances, and he has been dropped to the bench.
Lyon Vs. Montpellier: Lineups
Montpellier defender Abdelhamid El Kaoutari is still suspended after picking up a straight red card against Marseille in a league game two games ago, and will be a big loss. Additionally, midfielder Jamelle Saihi, who was in the original starting lineup, has been pulled after picking up an injury in warmups. He is replaced by Joris Marveaux. Montpellier’s key player may be striker Oliver Giroud, a big target striker who will be a handful for the Lyon defense.
