Plenty of chances for both sides so far in Lyon, and the score is 1-1 at half time. You’d probably just about give the edge to the hosts so far - they’ve had the better of possession and a few more scoring opportunities than Montpellier have managed, but the visitors have created plenty and after going down in the 22nd minute to a neat effort from Brazilian midfielder Ederson redoubled their efforts.

It paid off for Montpellier, who deservedly levelled eight minutes later through Olivier Geroud, who latched onto a Marco Estrada pass to beat Hugo Lloris with a cool finish, and they nearly went ahead just before half time when Geoffrey Durnis crashed a shot against the crossbar from range. It's been a very good response to the disappointment of a cup final loss for Montpellier, who are currently sitting ninth in Ligue Un. If they keep that up in the second half Lyon could be in very real trouble indeed.
