Real Madrid vs. Barcelona, 2011 UEFA Champions League Semifinal: Sergio Ramos Booked, Suspended For Next Leg

Chaos in the Barcelona defence as Carles Puyol and Gerard Pique collide after attempting to head a long ball aimed at Cristiano Ronaldo back to Victor Valdes. The two defenders end up simply popping the ball up for Ronaldo to run onto but eventually after several blocks the ball is cleared. Not great play by Ronaldo there, who should probably have at least tested Valdes.

Just a few mintues later and we have our first booking of the half, and it's an important one - Sergio Ramos handed a yellow card by Wolfgang Stark after inexplicably charging into Lionel Messi as the forward was making one of his trademark weaving runs. The card means that Ramos will be suspended for the return fixture, which is pretty bad news for Real Madrid - fortunately they'll have Ricardo Carvalho available for that one, but one has to imagine that Jose Mourinho would much rather have Ramos at right back than Alvaro Arbeloa.

This is the third of four matches between Real Madrid and Barcelona. You can view our coverage of the April 16th and 20th match here and here, with live coverage of Real Madrid vs Barcelona on April 27 in this story stream.
