Estudiantes La Plata aren’t in the greatest form, but they’ll still be favorites at home against Cerro Porteño in what should be a very good Round of 16 tie in the 2011 Copa Libertadores. Estudiantes are going with their usual attack-minded setup with three at the back and Enzo Perez as a roaming playmaker, while Cerro Porteño are going rigid away from home. Their lineup looks like a 4-4-2, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see the wide players pinch in as they play a compact team with nine men behind the ball in order to get a result on the road. However, they do have a number of good passing players and Roberto Nanni, one of their strikers, can create his own chances. Here are the lineups.
Estudiantes La Plata Vs. Cerro Porteño: Lineups
Estudiantes lineup (3-4-1-2): Orion; Re, Desabato, F. Fernandez; Iberia, Braña, Veron, Mercado; Perez; Lopez, G. Fernandez
Cerro Porteño lineup (4-4-2): Barreto; P. Benitez, Cardozo, C. Benitez, Piris; Villarreal, Nuñez, Fabbro, Torres; Lucero, Nanni
The game kicks off at 6:30 pm ET and can be seen on FoxSoccer.tv in the United States.
