Borussia Dortmund has signed Nürnberg's İlkay Gündoğan for a €5 million transfer fee, according to a report out of Germany. The report says that the add could increase to €6 million with Dortmund's UEFA Champions League qualification.

Gündoğan, 20, has been one of the best players this season for Nürnberg. In 23 appearances he has notched 5 goals and 2 assists. He’s one of the most promising young midfielders in the entire Bundesliga.
Gündoğan would not be pressed into coming in and being “the man” at Dortmund right away. They have an extremely deep squad and will be battling in the UEFA Champions League next season as the (soon-to-be-crowned) Bundesliga Champions. He has been lined up as an eventual replacement for Dortmund star Nuri Şahin who has been linked with clubs like Real Madrid, Chelsea FC, and Inter Milan. Şahin currently has an injury that will rule him out for the remaining three games of the Bundesliga season.
