UEFA To Investigate Real Madrid And Barcelona After Champions League Semifinal

After Barcelona's ill-tempered 2-0 win over Real Madrid in the first leg of their Champions League semifinal, it's not a surprise to see UEFA step in and make noise about discipline. So, they're apparently opening up disciplinary cases going after both teams for various incidents during the match. Here's the statement from UEFA:

The case against Real Madrid is in relation to the throwing of missiles, a pitch invasion, the red card shown to Pepe, the dismissal of coach José Mourinho, as well as the inappropriate statement given by Mr Mourinho to the media after the match.

The case against Barcelona regards the red card administered to José Pinto. Both cases will be heard by the UEFA Control and Disciplinary Body on Friday 6 May.

You'll note that there will be no case opened up against Barcelona or Real Madrid for the things that actually made the game unwatchable - the complete lack of respect for the officiating, the overly physical play by the hosts, and the absurd diving from the likes of Dani Alves, Pedro, and Sergio Busquets throughout the match. The pitch invasion, throwing objects, and Mourinho's presser were all pretty inappropriate, but why stop there? Go full force and fix what made that farce of a game so annoying.
