You can criticize Roma and Juventus for failing to score in the first half, but you can’t blame them for not opening up play and creating chances. Both sides found space and chances only to be denied by a good tackle, misfortune or in Roma’s case, spectacular goalkeeping by Marco Storari. The Juveventus goalkeeper, forced onto the field because Gianluigi Buffon is out with a high fever, made three incredible saves to keep Roma from tallying. If anyone was to win a Man of the Half award, it would go to the so-far sterling Juvetus keeper, who has been nothing short of brilliant.
Roma Vs. Juventus: Chances For Both Teams But No Goals In First Half
The question now is whether Roma will be able to beat Storari in the second half. They had their opportunities, but Storari has been too good. Maybe they just need to buy Matri and have him bat his eyelashes at Storari in the second half to distract him from the task at hand? For all the brilliance of Storari though, Juventus have had a few chances of their own and Roma, as always, have looked vulnerable to the counter-attack so the visitors are in a position to sneak a goal and three points out of this one.
