Despite the fact that they’re not playing their best football by any stretch of the imagination, Real Madrid are winning big against Athletic Bilbao. They’ve extended their lead to 3-0, thanks to an absolutely fantastic goal by Cristiano Ronaldo, with Esteban Granero providing the equally impressive assist. In most aspects of the game, Athletic have been good, but their finishing and decision making in their own box has been their downfall, despite their superiority between the two boxes.

The goal came in the 70th minute, and the move was started by Granero’s excellent long ball over the top of the Athletic defense. Ronaldo, who entered the game as a substitute in the 61st minute, ran onto the ball and took it wide left. He then ran towards the box, at Mikel San Jose, and beat him with stunning change of direction move. That gave him the whole goal to shoot at, and he beat Gorka Iraizoz easily to put his team ahead 3-0.
