New England Revolution vs Real Salt Lake: RSL Stays Undefeated After 2-0 Win

Collen Warner set up two different goals to lead Real Salt Lake to a 2-0 win over the New England Revolution. Warner first set up second year defender Chris Schuler on a corner kick midway through the first half. Shortly after halftime Warner found Paulo Araujo Jr., on a breakaway fun and the Brazilian tucked the shot away.

Jason Kreis put out what most on Twitter were calling a "B" squad tonight after he rested most of his starters after their CONCACAF Champions League semifinal win in Costa Rica this past Wednesday. Mainstays like Javier Morales, Kyle Beckerman and Nick Rimando started on the bench for the Claret-and-Cobalt.

After the two goals the game got physical. Shalrie Joseph and Pat Phelan both saw red cards for New England while RSL midfielder Will Johnson saw red after getting two yellow cards. There were plenty of other physical plays in the game, one included Tony Beltran being "checked" into the advertising boards by New England defender Kevin Alston. Alston only received a yellow card for the physical challenge on Beltran.

RSL dominated the possession game tonight, and really forced New England to sit back for large chunks of the game. New England only had a couple chances on goal and never really tested backup keeper Kyle Reynish.

The win for RSL also pushed their regular season undefeated streak to 17-games (dating back to last season), the third longest in league history behind last year's FC Dallas and the 2004-05 Columbus Crew's runs.
