Just moments after FC Dallas set a franchise record for longest streak with 416 plus minutes of shutout soccer, Brek Shea cashes in on that with the game's first goal. Shea made a wonderful run down the middle of the field as Andrew Jacobson slide a perfect pass to Shea who was able to one-time it by Kasey Keller.
Seattle Sounders FC Vs. FC Dallas: Shea Gives Dallas The Lead
Before the goal there were some nervous moments for Dallas as the slick turf at Qwest Field was giving Dallas some fits as they weren’t able to possess the ball like they normally do.
Seattle did have one chance early on with Michael Fucito who took a great clip of a pass from Mauro Rosales. Fucito’s one-time shot went wide but showed that he was worth the risk of getting his first start of the year from Sigi Schmid.
It will be interesting to see how Seattle responds to the early goal. Last year at Qwest Field between these two clubs it was Seattle who went on top early before Dallas was able to come from behind to get a late draw.
