FC Dallas may have not started the first half like they wanted to but once they settled down they set a new team record and scored goal. Brek Shea took a perfect through ball from Andrew Jacobson to slot home the game's only goal to give Dallas a 1-0 lead over the Seattle Sounders.
Seattle Sounders FC Vs. FC Dallas: Shea’s Goal Stands, 1-0 Dallas At Halftime
Shea’s forth goal of the year came shortly after Dallas set a new team record for longest shutout streak. Their defense hasn’t given up a goal since the Los Angeles game to start the month of May, going over 430 minutes.
Dallas' defense has been true to the test so far tonight as Seattle has had a couple decent opportunities early on. Michael Fucito has been giving the Toros' back four some fits as he and Mauro Rosales have been linking up very well together so far tonight.
Seattle is also winning the free kick battle as they currently have had four corner kicks to Dallas’ zero. They’ll need to do a better job at taking advantage of them if they want to even this game up.
Dallas did have a couple other chances on Kasey Keller's goal in the first half. Shea nearly doubled his total a few minutes after scoring when he found some space in the penalty box and just missed with a shot that sailed high. Fabian Castillo also had a chance on goal but his shot fell wise as well.
