Whenever the Los Angeles Galaxy play the New York Red Bulls it is billed as big markets and big stars. Early on, the big stars have lived up to their side of the bargain with Landon Donovan scoring for the Galaxy off of a David Beckham corner kick to match Thierry Henry's early goal for the Red Bulls. The match has been insanely entertaining with both sides generating chances and some sensational plays that have left most wondering how it is only 1-1.
LA Galaxy Vs. New York Red Bulls: Landon Donovan Equalizes For LA
Donovan equalized when he was able to sky above a pack of teammates and defenders to head a ball past Bouna Coundoul, who has been sensational. It's rare to see the diminutive Donovan win a header, much less one with plenty of defenders around, but that's what he did. Roy Miller did help by planting himself to the ground and never even bothering to jump, but Donovan won't complain. He has himself a goal and the Galaxy are level after 41 minutes.
