My Spanish is really not that good. But trust me when I say that it makes very little difference when watching a match like United States vs. Mexico in the Gold Cup final.
USA Vs. Mexico Is Way Better When Hearing It In Spanish
The pronunciations. The exclamations. The excitement. I guarantee none of this is coming through on the English language broadcast.
I’m sure this sounds snobbish to some of you. I’m sure some are wondering how I can possibly appreciate the announcer if I don’t understand a good deal of what they’re saying. And I get that. But you’re just going to have to trust me on this.
They love this game in a way that never comes through on most broadcasts, and especially those on Fox Soccer. I suppose they could be talking out of their asses just as much as the FSC guys, but the beauty of it being in Spanish is that I don’t really know.
If you're worried about the coverage being more slanted toward Mexico, don't be. The announcers exploded when Michael Bradley scored, when Landon Donovan scored, when Pablo Barrera scored and when Andred Guardado equalized. It's equal treatment as far as I can tell.
So give it a chance. I promise you’ll enjoy it.
