VIDEO: Welcome Back Brian Ching

It wasn't so long ago that Brian Ching was getting heavy consideration for the United States' World Cup team. But injuries have severely limited his play over the past year and as a 33-year-old forward, it's hard to see him ever getting back into the picture.

Of course, that doesn't mean he can't be an effective MLS player. Ching took his first steps toward regaining his spot among the best target MLS target forwards, scoring on a well taken header from about 10 yards out to equalize for the Houston Dynamo in the 83rd minute. The goal came after some nice footwork from Colin Clark, who picked up the assist.

The goal was his first since Sept. 18, 2010. Amazingly, he’s played just over 400 minutes since then as this was just his third start since then. The goal was also his second goal since his hat trick on Aug. 21, 2010, and he’s only made five starts since that game.
