If you're like me and didn't get a chance to fully appreciate Tuesday's Gold Cup action, you'll probably appreciate this handy-dandy highlight package of the United States' 2-0 win over Canada. Jozy Altidore had a couple nice moments, even beyond his goal, and Clint Dempsey showed some class on a couple occasions.
USA Vs. Canada, Gold Cup: Highlights
The real standout performance, though, belongs to Tim Howard. While a 2-0 may look comfortable on paper, Howard had to come up with several impressive saves to preserve the victory. Ali Gerba, in particular, had a couple great opportunities that Howard was able to turn aside.
It's also worth noting that the center back pairing of Tim Ream and Clarence Goodson looked solid, if unspectacular. Hopefully, their performance was good enough to convince coach Bob Bradley that Oguchi Onyewu is better off finding his form while with club than in Red, White and Blue. While Onyewu's physical presence may be missed, he's clearly off his game right now and Bradley needs to find better options.
