Copa America 2011, Chile Vs. Peru: First Half Ends Scoreless

Chile were dominant during the entire first half of their final group stage game in the 2011 Copa America, but that dominance didn't translate to goals. Peru, lacking any attacking power and probably happy with their passage into the next round, are defending deep and making life difficult for Chile. Despite the fact that Humberto Suazo and company have completely dominated possession and scoring chances, they're locked in a 0-0 draw at halftime. It seemed like it was only a matter of time before they scored for the entirety of the first half, but the goal never came.

The good news for Chile is that they have a ton of weapons on the bench. Alexis Sanchez and Arturo Vidal did not start, and both could provide a serious spark off the bench. However, they might be content with a draw. If this result holds, any result but a multi-goal Uruguay win in the second match will see Chile win the group anyway.
