VIDEO: Lionel Messi’s Supercup-Winning Goal

Barcelona and fierce rivals Real Madrid fought a closely contested Supercup, with the Blaugranes eventually triumphing 5-4 over two action-packed games. Unlike the most recent set of games these two teams have played, the actual result was in some doubt until Lionel Messi made sure of a home win with a sublime 87th minute goal in the second leg at the Camp Nou. Check it out.

That's gorgeous linkup play between Barcelona new boy Cesc Fabregas, Adriano, and Messi himself, capped by an absolutely phenomenal finish from the best player in the world (is there even a question now?). Iker Casillas had no chance whatsoever, and the Madrid defence was absolutely flummoxed by the hosts' movement leading up to that goal.

The match may have ended in fairly ugly fashion what with all of the fighting, but just moments before it had produced a moment of total, utter quality. So, ignoring those last few minutes whereupon everyone looked a bit stupid (especially Marcelo), congratulations on making a meaningless pre-season friendly thoroughly entertaining. We’ll remember this match for as long as we don’t have real games!
