Pele Wants To Play In Club World Cup With Santos

Brazil and world footballing legend Pele is claiming he could take to the field once more for Santos when they play in the Club World Cup this winter. It's an interesting development - Pele is a 71-year-old man whose only contribution to the sport in the last few decades has been annoying Diego Maradona, and it seems wildly unlikely that even a team run as mentally as Santos would ever permit this atrocity to take place.

It’s a little bit funny that a competition that the club are theoretically taking seriously might field a player who last stepped onto the pitch while the first Star Wars was a summer blockbuster, but if they want to act like complete lunatics, I suppose that’s their prerogative. Anyway, we asked our boys at SB Nation labs (betcha didn’t know we had labs!) to come up with a simulation of how Pele would fare int he modern game. This is their answer.
