AC Milan Transfer News: Antonio Nocerino Signs From Palermo

Yesteday, Adriano Galliani insisted that AC Milan were done with the mercato -- no more players in, no more players out. Turns out he was lying, or possibly just stretching the truth a little, because apparently the scudetto holders have signed Antonio Nocerino from Palermo to a five year deal.

The sometimes Italian international (Nocerino has been called up for the next round of Euro qualifiers in September) has been with Palermo for the past three seasons. However, with one year remaining on his contract, and no desire to sign an extension, it was clear the midfielder would be off soon. Up in Milan, Mathieu Flamini injured his knee in a preseason match against Juventus, and the resulting surgery means he will miss about six months of the season. A match made in heaven, then, as want-away Nocerino gets lucky and dons the rossoneri kit.

The transfer window is now shut in Italy -- clubs can sell players, but are unable to buy.
