Racing Santander Vs. Real Madrid Live, 2011 La Liga: Halftime, Poor Half Ends Scoreless

Real Madrid have predictably dominated possession in the first 45 minutes against Racing Santander, but that possession is yet to turn into anything overly positive. Los Merengues have had a very poor first half by their high standards, and they don't deserve any more than the current 0-0 score.

Racing have sat back for the most part, but they've defended very well and prevented Madrid from creating clear-cut chances. They actually did very well to get out on the break a few times in the early part of the half, but were unable to turn that into a goal. Madrid have just one shot on target and their makeshift lineup is not getting the job done. Youngster Raphael Varane looks a bit questionable, while Lassana Diarra is downright shocking.

Real have players like 'Pipita' Gonzalo Higuain, Angel di Maria, Kaka and Esteban Granero on the bench, so there's no doubt that they can change the game somehow. Madridistas will be hoping that Jose Mourinho knows exactly how to do that, because something needs changing.
