A day after their 1-3 beating at the hands of Borussia Mönchengladbach, more bad news was delivered to Bayern Munich. Starting centerback Daniel Van Buyten suffered a fractured second metatarsal.
Daniel Van Buyten Suffers Fractured Metatarsal
Bayern Munich starting centerback Daniel Van Buyten suffered a broken metatarsal against Borussia Mönchengladbach.

The injury occurred in the 76th minute of the match when Van Buyten collided with Gladbach forward Marco Reus. Van Buyten was subsequently substituted and helped from the pitch. The Belgian international would leave the stadium on crutches.
According to the club’s website, the surgery will be performed by Professor Andreas B. Imhoff at Munich University Hospital. They will not make a determination on the length of time that Van Buyten will be unavailable until after the surgery.
Van Buyten had an excellent first half of the season, and he made "Best Eleven" from most analysts at the midway point. Bayern will likely move Jerome Boateng into the central of defense pairing him with Holger Badstuber. Rafinha will then be inserted at right back.Their other option at centerback is the troubled soul that is Breno. I can't imagine the club being willing to insert a liability like Breno on the pitch in the middle of a very congested title race.
