Juventus Transfer Rumors: Montreal Impact Want Alessandro Del Piero

Everyone knows that Alessandro Del Piero's contract ends this summer. While it would be strange to see the Juventus captain playing for another club, it's unlikely that his current team will renew the contract, and Del Piero wants to keep playing. He's said, however, that playing for another team in Italy is almost certainly out of the question.

Enter the Montreal Impact, who will join Major League Soccer in the upcoming season. The new team is looking to make, well, an impact in the MLS, and what better way to do it than signing a big name? After all, it worked for the L.A. Galaxy and New York Red Bulls.

If you think about it, it makes perfect sense. There’s no big-name star from Italy playing in North America at the moment. What better way to attract new fans than to snap up the captain of Italy’s biggest side? No wonder the amount Montreal is rumored to be offering is $5m per year.
