Inter Milan Vs. Lazio, 2012 Serie A: Preview

Inter Milan stormed back into the title race - well, according to those who love a feel good story, anyway, as they're still 9 points behind leaders Juventus (although they do have a game in hand). Last week's win over rivals AC Milan made the nerazzurri look like title contenders, but first, they'll have to prove themselves against Lazio, who sit just one point ahead in the standings.

Hernanes was forced to leave the match against Atalanta before the halftime whistle last weekend, and it remains to be seen whether he can start for Lazio. On the other side, Diego Forlan remains injured, and Thiago Motta is suspended.

Don't expect many goals from this matchup: although Lazio tend to enjoy scoring away from the Stadio Olimpico, Inter have conceded just one goal in their last six Serie A matches (although, to be fair, if Lecce can do it, certainly Miroslav Klose has a shot). Then again, Lazio's defense has been less than stellar lately, allowing four from Siena just two rounds ago.

In other words, that’s why they play the games, huh?
