19-year-old Mario Goetze will miss the next two months of the season with a stress fracture of the pubic bone, putting the talented Borussia Dortmund midfielder out of commission until at least mid-March. Although Goetze seemed reasonably fit and ready to go ahead of BVB's 5-1 win against Hamburg last weekend, he complained of a groin issue before the match and a diagnosis of the problem by Dortmund team doctor Markus Braun was later confirmed by Germany's Dr. Hans-Wilhelm Muller-Wohlfahrt.

Borussia Dortmund’s star midfielder Mario Goetze will miss the next two months after suffering a painful-sounding stress fracture of the pubic bone.

The club’s website says to expect Goetze’s return no earlier than their away fixture at Augsburg on March 10th, and although Dortumund’s schedule is fairly light until then (none of the seven league opponent’s they’ll face between now and his anticipated return at in the top five), any later than that and things start to get very rough indeed. Goetze was one of the primary drivers behind BVB’s league win last season, but this year the Westphalians are having to do without him far too often for their liking.
