Inter Milan have found themselves a nice addition to their midfield in the form of Porto's Fredy Guarin. The Colombian will join the club on a loan for €2 million. Inter will also have the option to buy Guarin in the summer for €11 million, which could be seen as protection against the possible sale of Thiago Motta, who has been linked with a move away from the club.
Inter Milan Get Fredy Guarin On Loan With Option To Buy
“I am happy to be a new player of Inter,” Guarin told Sky Sport Italia on Monday. “But I will wait for tomorrow to vocalize all my happiness.”
Guarin was a staple of Porto's team a year ago when they won the treble under Andre Villas-Boas, but Villas-Boas left the club for Chelsea in the summer and Guarin has struggled to find playing time under new manager Vitor Pereira. It made the midfielder's exit from the club virtually assured and several clubs in Serie A were linked to him, but Inter have won out. Now they have themselves another central midfielder who is also capable of playing on the right and a mighty fine one at that.
