Columbus Crew Sign Chile’s Milovan Mirosevic

The Columbus Crew may have quietly made one of the more significant signings of the MLS offseason, inking Chile international Milovan Mirosevic to a multi-year contract. Mirosevic is a veteran of Chile's first division, having scored 46 goals in 108 games over the past three seasons with Universidad Catolica. He is also a regular on Chile's national team, most recently making substitution appearances during World Cup qualifiers in November.

“Milo brings a lot of quality and experience,” Crew head coach Robert Warzycha said in a team release. “He has represented his country, captained his club, been a top scorer in the Chilean league and played in important matches. He is a good passer, very technical, has good speed and can shoot from distance. We are very happy to be able to incorporate him into our attack.”

Mirosevic could slot in at any one of several positions, but has mostly played as an attack-minded midfielder. He was also the captain for his Chilean club team. His team won four titles during his tenure as captain.
