United States U23 Roster: 11 MLS Players Called Into Camp

United States U23 team still in preparations for Olympic qualifying in March, calls in 22 players to training camp.

Eleven Major League Soccer players and two more who are expected to be Top 5 picks in the upcoming 2012 SuperDraft were among the 22 players called into the United States U23 training camp as they prepare for CONCACAF Olympic qualifying in March. The team will train for 11 days at the Home Depot Center before travelling to Costa Rica where they will play two games against local teams.

Among the players called into camp this time was possible No. 1 overall draft pick Andrew Wegner and Kelyn Rowe, who is expected to be picked among the Top 5. Internationally based players included Gale Agbossoumonde, Joe Corona, Mikkel Diskerud and Sebastiean Lletget.

GOALKEEPERS (2): David Bingham (San Jose Earthquakes; Pleasanton, Calif.), Zac MacMath (Philadelphia Union; St. Petersburg, Fla.)

DEFENDERS (7): Gale Agbossoumonde (G.D. Estoril Praia; Syracuse, N.Y.), Sebastien Ibeagha (Duke; Missouri City, Texas), Kofi Sarkodie (Houston Dynamo; Huber Heights, Ohio), Zarek Valentin (Montreal Impact; Lancaster, Pa.), Jorge Villafaña (Chivas USA; Anaheim, Calif.), Andrew Wenger (Duke; Lititz, Pa.), Sheanon Williams (Philadelphia Union; Boston, Mass.)

MIDFIELDERS (9): Isaac Acuña (CF Mérida; Calexico, Calif.), Joe Corona (Club Tijuana; Chula Vista, Calif.), Mikkel Diskerud (Stabæk; Oslo, Norway), Dilly Duka (Columbus Crew; Montville, N.J.), Jared Jeffrey (FSV Mainz 05; Richardson, Texas), Sebastian Lletget (West Ham United F.C.; San Francisco, Calif.), Amobi Okugo (Philadelphia Union; Sacramento, Calif.), Kelyn Rowe (UCLA; Federal Way, Wash.), Michael Stephens (Los Angeles Galaxy; Naperville, Ill.)
