MLS will announce their postseason award winners in the coming days and weeks, but SB Nation wants to get ahead of the curve. Over the next few days we’ll be releasing the results of our own postseason award voting. All the writers from our 19 MLS blogs were invited to participate with 34 of them filling out ballots.

Editors and writers from all 19 MLS blogs submitted ballots for the MLS postseason awards.

Each voter was asked to pick a first and second choice for individual awards and to pick a group of players for their Best XI. The voters were asked to use a realistic formation, ie they needed at least three defenders. Two points was given for each first-place vote and one point for each second-place vote. To choose the Best XI, we simply picked the top vote-getting goalkeeper as well as the Top 10 outfield vote-getters.
Here’s the release schedule for the announcements:
Monday: Rookie of the Year (Austin Berry)
Tuesday: Newcomer of the Year; Defender of the Year
Wednesday: Goalkeeper of the Year; Best XI
Thursday: MVP
