Arsenal vs. Tottenham Hotspur: Lukas Podolski scuffs the Gunners into the lead

It wasn't the prettiest of finishes, but Lukas Podolski has put Arsenal in the lead against Tottenham Hotspur as the first half comes to a close.

Tottenham had been pegged back in their own area, and when Mikel Arteta tried to play the ball into the area, the ball took a bounce off Tom Huddlestone to find Lukas Podolski bearing down on Hugo Lloris' goal. He was marshalled by William Gallas, but the German striker's shot took a deflection off the Frenchman's heels, slowly rolling past Hugo Lloris and into the corner of Tottenham's goal.

It's bad news for Andre Villas-Boas, who finds his team a goal and a man down, and would surely have been hoping to keep the scores level until half-time. It's not all been one-way traffic, but barring a red card for Arsenal, it's difficult to see a way for Tottenham to get something from this game.
