Thanks to a hilarious slip up in Belarus, Bayern Munich are level on points with Valencia at the top of Group F. Now that BATE Borisov are done with the whole improbable victories business, there's virtually no doubt that these two sides will end up in the knockout rounds, but Valencia could pull off the improbably and end up ahead of last year's runners up should they win at the Mestalla.

A draw benefits both teams. Is anyone expecting this one to be particularly interesting?

Is that likely? No. Bayern are one of the very best sides in Europe, and they’re thoroughly capable of dismantling Valencia, home or no. The La Liga side is on an excellent run at the Mestalla, but Bayern have only failed to win three times this season, and expecting a slip-up here would be perverse. With Valencia facing bottom-of-the group Lille in France in their sixth matchday and Bayern hosting BATE, a draw here would assumedly mean that the status quo is maintained. That’s good enough for both teams, and it’s difficult to imagine Valencia being that wound up about finishing second rather than first.
So expect boringness, I suppose. The visitors have enough talent to turn any match into a rout if they so desire, but why both when a draw would suit everyone just fine?
