Juventus vs. Chelsea: Final score 3-0, Blues absolutely stunned

Chelsea’s terrible run of form continued with their worst result of the season on Tuesday. Juventus exposed all of their deficiencies in a 3-0 win, putting them on the brink of a Champions League exit.

Given Chelsea's recent form, a result at the Juventus Arena was always going to be hard to come by, but few could have possibly predicted the abysmal performance that they turned in against Juventus on Tuesday night. Even though the Bianconeri threw nothing at Chelsea that they hadn't seen before, they looked utterly clueless, and ultimately powerless to stop the Juventus attack as the home side ran out easy 3-0 winners.

Though the loss certainly wasn't his fault alone -- Chelsea's midfield was exceptionally poor -- Petr Cech was nowhere near his best in the match and was partially at fault for multiple goals. Fabio Quagliarella broke the deadlock after 38 minutes, though he didn't seem to know a ton about the goal. He stuck out his leg to deflect a shot by Andrea Pirlo, which makes Cech's failure to save seem understandable, but he was outrageously slow to react and was never anywhere near the ball.

Chelsea played well to end the second half, but didn't translate that into a goal or into a solid second half performance. Their midfield was dominated throughout the start of the first half, which eventually turned into a second Juventus goal. They had plenty of opportunities early on, and finally converted one in the 62nd minute. Kwadwo Asamoah set it up with a great pass into Arturo Vidal, who hit a shot that deflected off Ramires, giving Cech little chance to make a save.

The third goal, however, was very much on Cech. Chelsea's late desperation attempts to score led to a counter attack for Juventus, with Sebastian Giovinco getting on the end of the ball. Cech rushed out to clear, but got nowhere close to getting the ball away as Giovnico passed the ball between his legs for his team's third goal.
