Well that turned out to be pretty easy. Paris Saint-Germain are through to the knockout rounds of the Champions League after a comfortable win in Ukraine. Needing a draw against Dynamo Kiev to ensure that they'd escape Group A, the Parisians got a 2-0 win instead, courtesy of a brace from Ezequiel Lavezzi.
Dynamo Kiev vs. Paris Saint-Germain: Final score 0-2, Lavezzi brace sees PSG through
Goals on either side of halftime from Ezequiel Lavezzi gave Paris Saint-Germain a 2-0 win in the Olympic Kiev Stadium, ensuring they’ll qualify for the knockout rounds of the Champions League.
Despite a fairly relaxed start from the visitors at the Olympic Kiev Stadium, it was clear that the could step it up a gear whenever they felt like it, and Zlatan Ibrahimovic did just that when he slipped Lavezzi in on goal with halftime looming. The former Napoli man wasted no time in slipping the ball past Maxim Koval to make it 1-0. And Kiev’s job was made even more difficult in the 52nd minute when a sloppy backpass allowed Blaise Matuidi to square to ‘El Pocho’ for his second. There was no reply from Dynamo, whose Champions League adventure will be over after their final match against Dinamo Zagreb in a fortnight.
