Poor Anderson. The Brazilian's career hasn't exactly gone as hoped, and just as he looked to be making a breakthrough at Manchester United, he's been laid low with a hamstring injury. His substitution at the end of the first half at Reading was rather overshadowed by the seven goals scored in the opening period (of which Anderson scored the second after a superb one-two with Ashley Young before thumping in a shot at the near post), but it turns out that the 24-year-old's actually picked up a fairly serious problem:
Anderson injures hamstring, out ‘few weeks’

It's a hamstring unfortunately. He'll be out for a few weeks. He's been playing really well and scored a great goal. I'm very disappointed for him.

There's not much to say apart from bad luck Anderson. United's midfield is weak enough that a spell of good performances could have ended up properly establishing him in the side, but this injury puts an end to that. At least Darren Fletcher's back, right?
