Arsene Wenger has come under fire in recent years for his inability to win a trophy at the Emirates, but that usually came from the media or supporters. Now his team is being criticized by a former Gunner. Dennis Bergkamp spoke to the Daily Telegraph and the former Arsenal great did not have much positive to say about his former club, telling the paper that the Gunners need "more of a winning mentality than a passing mentality".

“I’m not sure Arsenal have enough of that in their players, when the attitude becomes more important than the ability just to pass the ball,” Bergkamp said. “I don’t know if the English mentality is missing a little bit. Sometimes I see their games and it’s always the same way of playing, a bit too predictable.”
“You can’t only depend on one or two players. When they’re having an off-day, you need someone else.”
The criticism isn't exactly a new criticism of Arsenal. The team used to draw praise for their commitment to beautiful football, but Arsenal have turned away from the beautiful attacking football of the past to more of a pointless passing back and forth 40 yards from the goal. Meanwhile, players like Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri have left the club, leaving them extremely dependent on Robin van Persie, who has also been linked to a move away from the Emirates this summer.
Bergkamp did go on to state that he didn’t expect Wenger to leave the club anytime soon because of what he believes essentially boils down to unfinished business. With Arsenal in danger of missing out on the top four and Champions League football for next year though, it might not be Wenger’s choice.
