Real Madrid Vs. Malaga, 2012 La Liga Week 27: This Probably Shouldn’t Be Close

Real Madrid are heavy favorites against Malaga, who could boost their top four hopes considerably with a draw.

Malaga jumped up to fourth place in Spain at the end of last week’s games, but unlike most of their seemingly infinite rivals for fourth in La Liga, they have yet to travel away to the Santiago Bernabeu. They make that trip on Sunday, and it’s probably not going to be a fun one. Besides the match against Barcelona, Real Madrid haven’t exactly been challenged at home.

...Okay, so they haven't been challenged much on the road either. Real Madrid are just really good. Malaga have been excellent at home, but they're truly dire on the road, and their defense is made of Swiss cheese. That will be made worse on Sunday by the fact that Jeremy Toulalan is out with an injury.

Real Madrid are still without Angel di Maria, but Fabio Coentrao has returned. Otherwise, they’re fit. And they’re probably going to score a few goals.

Game Date/Time: Sunday, March 18, 4:30 p.m. ET, 9:30 p.m. local

Venue: Santiago Bernabeu, Madrid, Spain

TV: GolTV (USA and Canada), Sky Sports 1 (UK)
