Bolton Remain In The FA Cup And Will Play Against Blackburn This Weekend

Bolton Wanderers will fulfill their fixture against Blackburn Rovers this weekend and will remain in the FA Cup, the club has confirmed. With the Trotters' midweek match against Aston Villa postponed after Fabrice Muamba's cardiac arrest last Saturday, there had been some doubt as to whether they'd be able to play so soon, but Muamba's been making steady progress and the mood around the club has lifted as a result.

Said Owen Coyle:

We spoke together with the players as a group this morning and I talked with Fabrice's family last night. Fabrice's father Marcel and his fiancée Shauna were keen that we fulfil our fixtures. Once the players knew this, there was no doubt in our minds that we would play the matches.

While Muamba’s prognosis is still unknown, all signs are encouraging, and Bolton are starting to recover as well. One has to imagine that the neutrals will have a new club to cheer on for the rest of the season.
