Chivas Guadalajara, Cruz Azul and Pumas UNAM are still in the race for a Liguilla place, but time is winding down on them. They only have six games left to catch the current top eight, and things don’t look good for Pumas in particular. They’re six points out of a Ligilla place. All three of those big clubs face challenges in Week 12, and they’re starting to get into must-win territory.

A University Derby is the highlight of the week in Mexico.
Before those teams play, Club America travel away to Monarcas Morelia in a battle between the second and third placed teams in the table. America is undefeated on the road this season and has a better goal differential away from home than they do on the road. Morelia are slightly better away from home than they are at home as well, so America probably should be considered slight favorites.
Chivas takes on Toluca in one of the late games on Saturday, and they will be without four players for international duty. Miguel Ponce, Jorge Enriquez, Marco Fabian and Erick Torres are all at Olympic qualifying with Mexico. Toluca will be missing Nestor Calderon for the same reasons, and they will be a little less short-handed.
Pumas and Tigres will also be missing key players for the Clásico Universitario on Sunday. Israel Jimenez and Alan Pulido miss out for Tigres, while Pumas are without David Cabrera and Javier Cortes. Cruz Azul also play on Sunday and will be without Nestor Araujo and Javier Aquino.
