Liverpool will be without the services of Charlie Adam of the rest of the season after the midfielder picked up a knee injury during the Reds' 3-2 loss against Queen Park Rangers last week. Adam was forced off at halftime following a crunching challenge by Armand Traore (which saw the fullback withdrawn from the match as well), and although nobody expected a particularly serious injury the worst has now been confirmed - the former Blackpool man will miss several months with lateral ligament damage.
Knee Injury Rules Charlie Adam Out For Season
Charlie Adam will not play until next year following a knee injury sustained during Liverpool’s 3-2 loss against QPR.

Adam isn't the only Liverpool midfielder who's absent for the rest of the year, of course. The influential Lucas Leiva has been missing since November, a point that more or less marks the collapse of the club's form. Adam's injury won't have nearly the same impact - he's been poor for most of the season so the loss probably won't impact their FA Cup run, and Liverpool are in a position where they should be looking to their youth for the rest of the year anyway. Still, it's not a good way for Adam to end a disappointing campaign.
