Toronto FC Vs. Santos Laguna, 2012 CONCACAF Champions League: Lineups

The semifinal round of the CONCACAF Champions League is here! Lone non-Mexican semifinalist Toronto FC are going for the upset for a second consecutive round in their tie against Santos Laguna. The Mexican club is fresh off a dominant performance in the quarterfinal round over the Seattle Sounders and are currently sitting atop the Mexican Primera, so it is safe to say they will be full of confidence. Can Toronto work their CCL magic yet again?

Here are the lineups for the match:

Toronto FC: Milos Kocic, Richard Eckersley, Ty Harden, Miguel Aceval, Ashtone Morgan; Reggie Lambe, Julian De Guzman, Terry Dunfield; Nick Soolsma, Danny Koevermans, Ryan Johnson

Santos Laguna: Oswaldo Sanchez; Darwin Quintero, Jorge Estrada, Aaron Galindo; Marc Crosas, Carlos Ochoa, Christian Suarez, Herculez Gomez, Rodolfo Salinas, Santiago Hoyos, Osmar Mares

TFC are missing perhaps their key player, Torsten Frings, due to injury. It will be interesting to see if they go for a defensive mindset or if they keep the 4-3-3 attacking spirit alive. Based on the lineup, it seems like Aron Winter is going with an attacking formation. Meanwhile, Santos are welcoming Quintero back to the CCL squad, and are rotating some new players into the lineup from the previous round. Most notably, striker Oribe Peralta is out, and veteran forward Ochoa takes his place in the lineup. Let's see which team will take the edge in this first leg.
