Swansea City star Leon Britton has signed a new deal with the club, which will keep him at the club until the summer of 2015.

Britton, a former West Ham United trainee, wasn't out of contract this season, but with only a year remaining on his current contract and a string of high-quality performances in the clubs debut Premier League season forced manager Brendan Rodgers to tie one of his most talented performers down in the long-term.
The 29 year old told the Swans official website he was delighted to stay at the club;
I’m pleased to complete the deal. It was an easy decision for me to make, although I still find it strange when I look back to the day I left for Sheffield United. I didn’t even think I would be back in Swansea colours, let alone playing for the club in the Premier League armed with a new three-year contract.
Britton hasn’t just been one of Swansea’s best players this season, but arguably one of the Premier League’s best this season as the club have entered the league, stuck to their passing style, and found themselves exceeding everyone, and perhaps even their own, expectations for the season.
There has been high-praise for Swansea's style, but it's Britton who appears to be the key cog in what's at time's is an unstoppable machine. In the clubs win over Bolton Wanderers earlier this season, Britton became the first player in Premier League history to finish the game with a 100% pass completion percentage, completing all 67 of his attempted passes. Britton also leads all of Europe in the same statistic, with a jaw-dropping 93.2%.
There have even been murmurs of late that Britton could be an outside contender to make the England squad for the forthcoming Euro 2012 tournament., but this is England we’re talking about, and big-names always trump the players in better form.
