The 45,000 people that poured into Rogers Centre are happy campers thanks to Ryan Johnson. Just 11 minutes into the first half of this CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinal first leg, Johnson put Toronto FC in front of the LA Galaxy with a very nice finish and now the Reds have the big crowd firmly behind them as they look to take it to MLS's best club from a season ago.
Toronto FC Vs. LA Galaxy, 2012 CONCACAF Champions League: Ryan Johnson Gives Reds Lead
It was the Galaxy who came out flying and pinned Toronto FC in their own half, but they couldn't make anything of it. Toronto broke back the other way finally after 10 minutes and the referee gave them a break when a ball that went off Joao Plata and over the endline was ruled a corner kick. The Reds took advantage when the corner kick couldn't be cleared and fell to Johnson, who ripped a left-footed volley past a helpless Josh Saunders for the opening goal to ignite the home crowd.
